Upon being elected Student Council President, first-year student Kurokami Medaka introduces a suggestion box for students to share their concerns, which quickly earns the nickname "Medaka Box." Medaka proclaims that no issue is too small for her attention and requests that students submit their problems without hesitation. Despite winning the council election by an overwhelming 98% vote, Medaka is the sole member of the council. She enlists the help of her childhood friend, Hitoyoshi Zenkichi, as the least ranking member of the council. Eventually, Medaka brings on two more members, former judo club member Akune Kouki as secretary, and swim club member Kikaijima Mogana as treasurer on loan for 300 yen a day. Together, the members of the Student Council diligently work to address the problems presented in the Medaka Box. They handle a variety of issues, from handling disruptive club members to drafting love letters and searching for lost pets. Their dedication to helping those in need earns them the admiration and respect of the entire school.
At 22 years old, Eikichi Onizuka is a pervert and former gang member who surprisingly becomes a teacher in Great Teacher Onizuka. The show follows his wild and often absurd efforts to win over Class 3-4, a group determined to have him expelled from the school. Challenges arise, including a balding vice-principal, old foes from his motorcycling past, and his own unorthodox teaching style. Nevertheless, Eikichi perseveres in his quest to help his students, pursue a romantic relationship with fellow teacher Azusa Fuyutsuki, and claim his self-appointed title. The show also includes "GTO: Great Toroko Oppai♡" (Tomoko's Big Adventures) as a gaiden.
Yatsuki Nishizuru works part-time in Akihabara and has the unique ability to see and talk to spirits, specifically the youkai that reside in the area. However, Yatsuki prefers to lead a normal life, focusing on work, caring for his younger sister Nanao, and enjoying a coffee at a nearby café. But all of that changes when he is unexpectedly hit in the face by a girl who falls out of a tree. This girl, named Rokka Ayatsuji, quickly becomes friends with Yatsuki and Nanao. However, they soon discover that Rokka is actually a Rokurokubi, an ancient youkai that feeds on souls and can stretch her neck to incredible lengths. Complicating matters further, Yatsuki reveals that Nanao's body and spirit are separate, and Nanao is actually a ghost. At the same time, Momo Chitoseya, one of the waitresses at the café, gets possessed by an evil spirit. Yatsuki and Rokka carry out an exorcism to save her, attracting the attention of Nagi, Momo's sister, who is a professional medium. In exchange for their assistance in eliminating dangerous youkai in Akihabara, Nagi vows to find a way to reunite Nanao's spirit with her body. Aware of the dangerous spirit world, Yatsuki embarks on a dangerous journey to restore his sister's spirit to her body, risking his life in the process.

They must help Moriking defeat four other candidate kings to become the Lord of the Forest, ruler of all the insects in the world.
