William Twining is blessed with both brains and wealth. He attends a prestigious school and lives in a huge mansion with his uncle and butler. This room contains a magical seal, with which he unintentionally summons a demon. Teito Klein is a former slave who now attends the Barsburg Empire's military academy because of his capability to use a sort of unnatural power, Zaiphon. The skill is uncommon and therefore highly prized. Teito is an amnesiac who often has dreams that are awful. The night time prior to Teito the graduation test and his only friend, Mikage, vow they'll not ever left each other. Teito overhears people talking about him, a day later. Ceasing to hear, he suddenly understands that Chief of Staff Ayanami, the loudspeaker, is the one who killed the guy that is recognizable in his fantasies: the king of the ruined Raggs Kingdom, his dad. One of his subordinates is found eavesdropping and attempts to assault Ayanami but immediately brings down Teito and sent to jail. Mikage comes to help him escape, and then discover that Teito has managed to fight by himself past the guards. The two flee through the creating but are cornered on a balcony. Although a Zaiphon blast wounds him that he is directed at by Ayanami Teito feigns to hold Mikage hostage, then makes his getaway. Three bishops in the nearby 7th District find the wounded Teito and consider him to a closeby church to recuperate, where he's shielded due to the law of safety of the 7th District. In due time, it's found that Teito takes the Eye of Mikhail, a strong talisman for which his home land was ruined. This reality, along with a reunion that is fateful, catapults Teito in to a pursuit of vengeance from the Barsburg Empire as well as for information about his earlier. In once, he is thrown by his position as the bearer of the Eye of Mikhail in to the longstanding battle involving the bad Verloren the 07 Ghosts, and his adversaries.

Story 01: Kaine - Shinogu awakens from a coma in a hospital only to find out that his black hair is now long and red. He looks exactly like his famous rock group vocalist twin brother - Kaine. Kaine was part of a group called Endorphines. Apparently someone tried to kill the two brothers off. However, in a car accident, Kaine died on the spot while Shinogu was comatose. In order to let Endorphines continue, their manager has forced Shinogu to take over his brother's place, hoping no one will know the difference. But will they? Kaine's best friend, Die, starts to suspect the fake-Kaine. Meanwhile, one by one, the fans of Endorphines begin to commit sucide after listening to the groups latest CD. One day, when Hidaka Kishi is going to school with his close friend Kimiko, he notices a strange new song on his music player: "Who Killed Cock Robin?" Little does he know, a murderous game is beginning, with him as the target--the Cock Robin. Fourteen other players (called 'birds') are all competing to kill him, in exchange for making their wishes come true. However, one of the birds, Saedano Minami, seems to have other plans. To Hidaka's confusion, she decides to protect him, but what is her ultimate goal? How will Hidaka survive this deadly game?
From MangaHelpers: In response to a decrease in population, human corpses have become a major resource for society's labor pool. Necromancers are needed to animate corpses for various jobs. These corpses work reliably unless they encounter human love, at which point they go berserk and attack. Zen is the necromancer of his city, and he spends his time animating corpses and dealing with the messy aftermath of those cases of 'necrophilia.' Zen has a strange assistant, who keeps his face covered and never speaks in public. This assistant is Yomai, a ghoul that Zen took under his wing. Zen allows Yomai to feed from his own flesh, but he has strictly forbidden the ghoul from revealing himself to, speaking to, or eating other humans. Yomai doesn't want to anger his benefactor, but he is not completely satisfied living under all of Zen's restrictions. The master of "non-human" drawings, Iwahi Neko, presents a fantasy cynical story of "humans" and "non-humans" who gather under the care of the town doctor, Dr. Katashiro.
