Emilico is a Living Doll in the Shadows House, alongside many others who serve the mansion's completely black, soot-emitting residents. Each "Shadow" has a corresponding Doll, and Emilico must keep the house immaculate while also representing her master Kate. Despite their roles, Kate treats Emilico as a friend and confidant. The mysterious nature of the partnership between these two groups is further complicated by the overseers on the upper levels of the mansion, their motives unknown. This has been the norm in their world for as long as they can remember.
During a school trip, Kaito Ise and his classmates suddenly find themselves in the middle of a deadly game in which they must fight each other until one person remains.
